Cultural Survival, an Indigenous-led nonprofit based in Cambridge, MA, is seeking volunteers for its upcoming bazaars in Rhode Island in 2026. The organization, dedicated to advocating for Indigenous Peoples’ rights and supporting their cultural and political resilience for over 50 years, hosts these bazaars to promote Indigenous entrepreneurship and cultural exchange. Since 1975, the Cultural Survival Bazaars have provided a platform in the Boston area for Indigenous artists from around the world to sell crafts, artwork, clothing, and jewelry directly to New England residents. The events also feature cultural performances, storytelling, and craft demonstrations, allowing attendees to engage personally with Indigenous creators. These bazaars support Indigenous communities by preserving traditions, protecting intellectual property, and fostering economic development aligned with the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. The next event will take place on December 19 and 20 at the Waterfire Arts Center in Providence, RI, with volunteer opportunities available for set-up and during the event. Interested volunteers can sign up online to help support this unique cultural celebration.
