Anne M. Refino, 71, of Providence, passed away on July 30, 2026, at Elmhurst Rehabilitation Center. A lifelong Rhode Island resident, Anne was known for her warmth, kindness, and strong community spirit. She was the wife of the late Joseph M. Refino Sr. and daughter of Frederick and Ruth Clancy. After marrying Joseph, she settled in North Providence, where she raised her family and became affectionately known as the neighborhood mom for her welcoming nature and care for others.
Anne had a deep love for animals, especially horses and dogs, and enjoyed horseback riding in her youth. She cherished spending time at the beach and was known for her lively personality and sense of humor, which left a lasting impression on those around her. Devoted to family and friends, Anne is survived by her children Nicole Aveline, Dena Refino, Joseph Refino and wife Nicole, six grandchildren, her sister Patricia Clancy, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on August 7, 2026, at A.A. Mariani and Son Funeral Home in Providence, followed by burial at St. Francis Cemetery in Pawtucket.
Anne M. Refino, de 71 años y residente de Providence, falleció el 30 de julio de 2026 en el Elmhurst Rehabilitation Center. Viuda de Joseph M. Refino Sr., Anne nació y creció en Providence, donde cultivó valores de familia, lealtad y comunidad. Tras casarse, estableció su hogar en North Providence, lugar donde crió a sus hijos y se convirtió en una figura querida del vecindario, conocida como “la mamá del barrio” por su amabilidad y apoyo constante a quienes la rodeaban.
Amante de la playa, los caballos y los perros, Anne disfrutaba especialmente de la equitación en su juventud y tenía un afecto especial por sus “nietos perrunos”. Su personalidad vivaz y su sentido del humor la hicieron inolvidable para familiares y amigos. Su vida giró en torno a la familia y la amistad, dejando un legado de cariño y fortaleza.
Le sobreviven sus hijos Nicole Aveline, Dena Refino, Joseph Refino y su esposa Nicole; seis nietos; su hermana Patricia Clancy; y varios sobrinos. Los servicios funerarios se realizarán el 7 de agosto de 2026 en la funeraria A.A. Mariani and Son en Providence, con posterior entierro en el cementerio St. Francis de Pawtucket.
