PPAC and Keri Anne O’Donnell Memorial Fund Announce Recipient of the Outstanding Greeter Grant

The Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC), in collaboration with the Keri Anne O’Donnell Memorial Fund, has awarded the 2026 Outstanding Greeter Grant to Carolyn Richer, a senior at Portsmouth High School. Richer participates in PPAC’s High School Greeter program, where students aged 15 to 18 welcome patrons before shows in the Taco and The White Family Foundation Broadway Series. The grant honors a student who demonstrates dedication and enthusiasm in this volunteer role. Established by the O’Donnell Family to honor Betty Benedetti, longtime coordinator of the Greeter program and PPAC’s Senior Marketing Assistant, the grant recognizes the positive impact the program has on students’ social skills and love of theatre. Frank O’Donnell, president of the memorial fund, highlighted how the program benefitted his own children. PPAC’s Director of Marketing, P.J. Prokop, praised Carolyn’s warm and welcoming nature. Carolyn expressed surprise and gratitude for the recognition. The Greeter program offers students community service hours, interaction with patrons, and the chance to attend Broadway shows. Applications for the 2026/2027 program are now open.
El Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC), en colaboración con el Keri Anne O’Donnell Memorial Fund, anunció que Carolyn Richer, estudiante de último año en Portsmouth High School, es la ganadora de la Beca Outstanding Greeter 2026. Este reconocimiento destaca a un estudiante voluntario del programa High School Greeter de PPAC, que involucra a jóvenes de 15 a 18 años que reciben cordialmente a los asistentes antes de las funciones de la serie Broadway de Taco y The White Family Foundation. La beca fue creada por la familia O’Donnell en honor a Betty Benedetti, ex coordinadora del programa y asistente de marketing en PPAC, quien contribuyó al desarrollo social y amor por el teatro de numerosos estudiantes voluntarios. Frank O’Donnell, presidente del fondo memorial, destacó el impacto positivo del programa en sus propios hijos. P.J.
