Richard “Ricky” J Santagata, 66, of Providence, passed away on July 5, 2026, surrounded by his partner and family. Born in Providence to Lorraine Santagata and the late Harry E. Santagata, Ricky worked at UPS’s Warwick distribution center for 18 years before retiring in 2025. Known for his quick wit, kindness, and love of life, he enjoyed spending time outdoors camping and kayaking with his soulmate, Kirsten Calise. A devoted family man, he cherished moments with his daughter Stacy, grandchildren, and siblings. Ricky was an avid sportsman, playing basketball, golf, bowling, and softball, notably winning the 1990 State Class C Championship with his ASA Softball League team. He was a passionate New England Patriots fan and loved recording his grandson Romeo’s football games to watch together. Famous for his humor and lively spirit, Ricky often danced and entertained at gatherings, especially with his brother Billy. He is survived by Kirsten, his daughter and family, his mother, siblings, half-siblings, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ricky’s faith and joyful spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
