Mayor Brett Smiley Announces Full Festival Schedule, Return of LUV U BETTER Block Party to PVDFest

Providence Mayor Brett Smiley and the Department of Art, Culture and Tourism have announced the full schedule for PVDFest 2026, including the return of the free LUV U BETTER Block Party on Friday, September 18, from 5 to 10 pm at the Providence Rink. The party, produced by stay silent, features R&B, soul, dance, and hip-hop music with performances by Slick Vick, King Marie, Mozes, Charlie Tunes, and Where’s Nasty. On Saturday, September 19, Big Freedia will headline the Plaza Stage at 8:30 pm, joined by local group Earl Bright & Elevated Choir, who will also perform earlier that day. PVDFest will run extended hours until 10 pm on both days, offering live music, art, food, and cultural experiences throughout downtown Providence. Additional pre-festival events are scheduled for September 10 and 17. Maker Spaces and Cultural Heritage Groups will return, providing attendees opportunities to engage with local artists and cultural traditions. El alcalde de Providence, Brett Smiley, junto al Departamento de Arte, Cultura y Turismo, anunciaron el regreso del festival PVDFest, que se realizará el viernes 18 y sábado 19 de septiembre con horarios extendidos hasta las 10 pm. Destaca la reaparición del LUV U BETTER Block Party, una fiesta gratuita de R&B organizada por la productora stay silent, que tendrá lugar el viernes 18 de 5 a 10 pm en el Providence Rink. Este evento contará con DJ sets y actuaciones de artistas como Slick Vick, King Marie y Mozes. El sábado, la cantante Big Freedia encabezará la noche en el Plaza Stage, acompañada por Earl Bright & Elevated Choir, fortaleciendo la tradición del festival de unir talentos locales con artistas reconocidos a nivel nacional e internacional.
Además, PVDFest incluirá espacios de creación y grupos de patrimonio cultural, permitiendo a los asistentes interactuar con artistas locales y explorar tradiciones diversas.
