The Providence Public Library is hosting a workshop led by Jacques Bidon that focuses on creating one-color prints using historical letterpress blocks. Participants will learn the basics of letterpress printing while working with images from Rhode Island dating back to the 1930s through the 1950s. These blocks primarily depict scenes related to leisure and recreational activities from that era. Many of the images originate from the Rhode Island Development Council and have been previously printed in various formats. This hands-on workshop offers a unique opportunity to engage with local history through traditional printing techniques.
La Biblioteca Pública de Providence organiza el taller “Jacques Bidon PPL Letterpress Block Workshop”, donde los participantes podrán crear una serie de impresiones monocromáticas utilizando bloques históricos de tipografía. Durante la actividad, los asistentes aprenderán los fundamentos del uso de la prensa tipográfica.
