On June 24, candidates for the Providence City Council officially filed their declarations of candidacy by the 4 p.m. deadline at City Hall. To appear on the September 9 primary ballot, candidates must gather 50 valid signatures from registered voters in their ward by July 10; mayoral candidates require 500 signatures. Candidates have until July 13 to withdraw, so the final ballot may differ from the current list. The article lists declared candidates across all 15 wards, noting incumbents with an asterisk. Most candidates are Democrats, with a few Republicans running in select wards.
