Gerald A. Greene, Sr.
Gerald A. Greene, Sr., a lifelong resident of Providence, passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on September 23, 2026, at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the husband of the late Emmalina Greene and the son of Charles and Mae Greene. Mr. Greene worked as a roofer foreman and was a member of the Roofers & Waterproofers Union Local No. 33 until his retirement in 1996. He was deeply devoted to his large family, surviving by six children, 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, two sons, and two grandsons. Known affectionately as “Pops,” he was cared for in his later years by his son James and daughter Dori. Gerald is also survived by his sister Patricia Valis, numerous nieces and nephews, and his dog Max. Funeral services will be held on September 30 at Skeffington Funeral Home, followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Providence. Flowers are respectfully omitted.
