Brooke Hammerle, a dedicated artist and photographer from Elmwood, has recently passed away. Known for her commitment to her craft, Brooke studied extensively, including at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). She worked as a photographer for Brown University’s Arts Departments, including Visual Arts, History of Art, and the Bell Gallery. Her color landscapes were celebrated for their unique, ephemeral interpretation of light and color. Brooke exhibited widely both in the United States and internationally, with her works held in numerous private and corporate collections. Most recently, she was represented by Boston Art and Art Acumen in London. She is survived by two brothers, Carley of Virginia and Frank of Hawai’i. A memorial service date has yet to be announced. Brooke’s artwork is currently available for auction on Mutual Art.
