Alan M. Samdperil, aged 87, passed away peacefully at his home in Coral Gables, Florida, on September 16, 2026. He was married to Sandra (Chaiken) Samdperil, with whom he shared 67 years of marriage, having been together since they were teenagers. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Alan was the son of the late Nathan and Dorothy Samdperil. He attended Classical High School and graduated with honors from Harvard College. Alan was a dedicated businessman involved in a multi-generational family metal supply and importing enterprise.
He spent most of his life in Providence but enjoyed winters in Palm Desert, California, and summers in the Berkshires with his wife. Alan was passionate about travel, skiing, golfing, and flying his Cessna plane. A committed supporter of Israel and former member of Temple Beth-El in Providence, he was active in the community for decades.
Alan is survived by his wife, three daughters, sister, six grandchildren, and five great-grandsons. Funeral services were held on September 23, 2026, in Providence, with a shiva gathering following. Donations in his memory were encouraged to the Friends of the IDF Lone Soldier Program.
