The Providence Preservation Society (PPS) will release the 29th edition of its Most Endangered Places (MEP) list in 2026, marking nearly three decades of highlighting at-risk sites across the city. Since 1994, 140 unique locations have been named, ranging from historic homes and industrial mills to public schools and green spaces. While 20 individually listed structures have been demolished, 101 remain standing, with 20 adaptively reused for new purposes. Some sites have appeared multiple times, including the Industrial Trust Building and Old Temple Beth El, each listed 11 times, and the Dexter Training Ground & Cranston Street Armory, listed 12 times. The list has also included symbolic nominations, such as the entire city of Providence in 2021, reflecting threats from climate change and rising sea levels. The oldest building ever listed is the Richard Brown House, dating to 1731, while the newest is the Providence Place Mall, completed in 1999 and first listed in 2026. The MEP continues to spotlight a diverse array of properties, emphasizing the ongoing challenges of preserving Providence’s architectural and cultural heritage amid development and environmental pressures.

Desde su inicio en 1994, han sido incluidas 140 ubicaciones únicas en esta lista, que abarca desde rascacielos y espacios verdes hasta viviendas individuales en diversos barrios de la ciudad. De estos sitios, 20 han sido demolidos, mientras que 101 permanecen en pie, y 20 de ellos han sido reutilizados adaptativamente para nuevos fines. Algunos edificios han aparecido repetidamente en la lista, como el Dexter Training Ground & Cranston Street Armory, incluido en 12 ocasiones, o el Industrial Trust Building y el Old Temple Beth El, listados 11 veces cada uno.
