We’re meeting for our monthly philosophy club. This month we’re reading and discussing Montaigne!
Join us on Thursday, August 27th from 6-7(ish) as we host our monthly meeting for the Providence Philosophy Club! This month our moderator will be Matt V, and he’s opted to have us read and discuss a few selections from The Complete Essays of Montaigne.
These excerpts are for the following:
- “Of the inconsistency of our actions” (Book 2, Essay 1)
- “Of repentance” (Book 3, Essay 2)
- “Of friendship” (Book 1, Essay 28)
- “Of cannibals” (Book 1, Essay 31)
- “That to philosophize is to learn to die” (Book 1, Essay 20)
- “Of experience” (Book 3, Essay 13)
