Juneteenth Honor Ceremony
Ceremonia de Honor del Juneteenth
North Burial Ground and the Juneteenth Project will collaborate again for our second annual honor roll reading and flower laying ceremony in honor of the Black soldiers of the civil war buried in the Grand Army of the Republic’s Prescott Post lot. We take this time every year to reflect on the profound sacrifice of these brave men who fought to preserve our union, for their own freedom and the freedom of their brothers and sisters in bondage. Juneteenth celebrates a day when a more complete freedom was extended throughout or nation, and we come together to reflect on what that means as well look back at the Declaration of Independence, and forward as country.

North Burial Ground y el Proyecto Juneteenth colaborarán nuevamente para nuestra segunda ceremonia anual de lectura del listado de honor y colocación de flores en honor a los soldados negros de la guerra civil enterrados en el lote del Prescott Post del Grand Army of the Republic. Cada año tomamos este tiempo para reflexionar sobre el profundo sacrificio de estos valientes hombres que lucharon para preservar nuestra unión, por su propia libertad y la libertad de sus hermanos y hermanas en esclavitud. Juneteenth celebra un día en que se extendió una libertad más completa en toda nuestra nación, y nos reunimos para reflexionar sobre lo que eso significa, así como para mirar hacia atrás en la Declaración de Independencia y hacia adelante como país.
