Join Books & Banter for our discussion on this month’s pick, Everything is Tuberculosis, by John Green. This compelling non-fiction book takes a look at the world’s deadliest infectious disease, blending personal narrative with medical history to examine why a preventable, curable illness still kills millions. Centered around Green’s friendship with a young patient in Sierra Leone, the book argues that TB persists due to inequality, not just bacteria.

Despite the serious subject, it’s witty, cogent, and formatted like an “urgent and compassionate work,” making complex medical and social issues understandable and poignant, even for those unfamiliar with TB.
