WaterFire Providence has announced an open call for artists to participate in “America, Unfinished?!”, a large-scale group exhibition running from July 2 to August 30, 2026, at the WaterFire Arts Center in Providence, Rhode Island. The show will occupy a 15,000-square-foot industrial space and explore America as an ongoing, evolving project, inviting artists to submit work that addresses the complexities and contradictions shaping personal and collective experiences. Themes include labor, migration, identity, memory, civic life, and everyday culture. Both emerging and established artists working across disciplines are encouraged to apply, with a focus on large-scale installations, immersive environments, participatory or performance-based works, and media projects. Applications are accepted from individuals and collectives locally, nationally, and internationally, with a deadline extended to April 19, 2026. Selected artists will receive exhibition space, technical support, documentation, marketing exposure, and opportunities for public engagement. The WaterFire Arts Center, housed in a restored industrial building, supports creative practice and community dialogue through exhibitions and events.
