Phyllis L. “Honey” (Brown) Cantrell, aged 89, of Providence, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2026, at the HopeHealth Hulitar Center. Born on January 22, 1937, in Providence, she was the daughter of the late David C. Brown and Frances T. Brown. A Hope High School graduate, Phyllis dedicated nearly 30 years as an executive administrative assistant for the State of Rhode Island. Deeply religious, she was an active member of Allen AME Church in Providence for over 15 years, serving in the Usher Ministry and as Administrative Assistant to Rev. Dr. Marlowe V. N. Washington. From 2004 to 2022, she lived in Ellenwood, Georgia, where she engaged with senior centers and gained recognition for her quilt-making skills. Most recently, she was affiliated with Tabernacle of Praise Church International in McDonough, GA. Phyllis is survived by her children, siblings, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by several siblings. Donations in her memory may be made to Hope Hospice.

Su legado de fe y dedicación comunitaria será recordado por familiares y amigos.
