The Rhode Island Small Business Village, a pop-up marketplace at Providence Place mall, is showcasing over 40 local businesses through August 30. Organized by Skills for Rhode Island’s Future with support from Centreville Bank, the initiative aims to boost local commerce by providing small businesses with exposure in a high-traffic retail environment. The Village features diverse entrepreneurs such as Kent Stetson Handbags and Tallula Jewelry, giving them a rare opportunity to reach new customers during a busy summer marked by major events like World Cup-related activities. Since its mid-June ribbon cutting, the project has been praised for creating a centralized space for local startups, with Executive Director Nina Pande credited for driving the effort. The initiative highlights Rhode Island’s commitment to supporting homegrown brands and fostering economic growth.
