Claire Irene (Watson) Iannelli, 90, of Cumberland, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on July 18, surrounded by family. Born in Providence and raised in Johnston, Claire made Cumberland her lifelong home, dedicating herself to her family and community. She earned a Bachelor of Social Work from Rhode Island College in 1986, reflecting her commitment to helping underprivileged individuals with kindness and dignity. Known for her compassion, Claire enjoyed simple pleasures like reading the Sunday newspaper, watching QVC, and listening to music ranging from Neil Diamond to Guns N’ Roses. She also loved hot air balloons, elephants, and peaceful moments by the ocean. Claire is survived by her four children—Charlene, Joseph, Kenneth, and Colin—Iannelli, along with 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Richard and daughter Kristen. Claire’s legacy of generosity, resilience, and unconditional love touched many lives and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
