Seven student athletes from Alfred Lima Sr. Elementary School in Providence and 14 from Central Falls have been chosen to serve as official player escorts at the upcoming World Cup. This opportunity was made possible through Project GOAL, a free program designed to encourage young soccer players to maintain strong academic performance and regular participation in the program. By rewarding dedication both on the field and in the classroom, Project GOAL offers these students a unique chance to be part of a major international sporting event. This experience not only highlights their athletic talents but also recognizes their commitment to education and personal development. The selection of these 21 students marks a significant milestone for the program and the communities involved, providing the children with memorable exposure to world-class soccer and inspiring them to continue striving for excellence.
