The City of Providence is marking Small Business Month in May 2026 with the “Found in Providence” campaign, encouraging residents and visitors to discover local small businesses across various neighborhoods. To support this initiative, the city is offering free two-hour parking on weekends—from Friday through Sunday—throughout May in designated districts including Broad Street, College Hill, Downtown, Federal Hill, Fox Point, Hope Street, the Jewelry/Innovation District, RiverWalk, Silver Lake/Olneyville, Smith Hill, Thayer Street, and Wayland Square. While parking meter fees will be waived during these times, two-hour parking limits will still be enforced to ensure availability for all. Alongside free parking, participating businesses will hold sidewalk sales and extend their hours to enhance the shopping experience. Each week, the city will release new clues on its social media platforms as part of the campaign, inviting the public to explore different areas, revisit favorites, and enter prize drawings. This initiative aims to boost local commerce and celebrate Providence’s vibrant small business community.
